My first name is Jude, and I was named after both the Saint …
… and the song …
Judas Thaddeus always used to be confused with Judas Iscariot in the bible…
In Trinidad & Tobago, which is where I’m from, a “bobolee” is defined as an “Idiot or simpleton; A stupid person.”
We also have a tradition of beating the “Good Friday Bobolee” every Good Friday… this represents beating Judas Iscariot, as it were…
So…
Jude –> Judas –> Thaddeus –> Iscariot –> Bobolee.
😆
My aim with this blog? Well, all I want to do is write about the things that interest me …and I like a lot of things… from having race-related and political discussions, high/low tech stuff and the media, sports and culture, and a whole lot more.
I honestly haven’t figured out a category to fit my blog in, so I thought it best not to box myself in.
This is my first serious attempt at blogging, so please… feel free to comment and critique as you see fit. All I ask is that you keep your comments clean and respectful.
Also feel free to pass on any posting that you enjoyed to your friends!
one of my favorite sayings incorporates that word: “i look like i have de word bobolee taped across my forehead?” [which when i say it, is never supposed to be rhetorical]
Whenever I get “ganged” up on in a meeting or discussion because I have a different point of view, I say the same thing!
“Wha’, allyuh feel I have ‘bobolee’ write across meh forehead or someting? Whey all dis licks comin’ from??”
🙂
Is ah Trini ting!!!
Great to “meet” you! And thanks for being my first comment on my new blog!
Greet to “meet” you too, emilypostal!
Good luck with your blog!
Your “About Me” page really had me rolling! 😆
Looking forward to more good stuff!!!
Take care!
Hey Jude,
Nice Olympic coverage. The races were so thrillling!
Can you please do me a favor? I am not allowed back on Facebook for being “Fake”. ( I am O.K. with that and will honor the rules. I like that they have these guidelines in place to protect our children and will not try and get back on in violation of the guidelines.) However, I’d created a group on there called Barack Obloggers and I am told that when you are kicked out of Facebook you your groups become open for anyone to administer. Can you administer this group please? I’d appreciate it. If you decide to do it e perhaps you can post a link to my blog. II don’t think there were very many people that joined so this won’t get many eyeballs, but it would be nice to know that there I have a little presence on Facebook.
Thanks,
-M-
Hey “FakeMichelle” …
I will check your group out when I get home tonight from work.
Mayn’t be able to do what you’ve asked, but I’ll still consider it. I have a lot on my plate right now…
Thanks for thinking of me, though! 🙂
The vote of confidence is appreciated, though not quite understood!
Thanks for the response. Hope you got a chance to check it out and find that it is something you can do. If not…I understand.
I see that you’re enjoying the Olympics!
What’s up with all those dropped batons in the relay? After the Amercian women blew it I just knew the Jamaican women were going to take the show….but then another dropped baton! Unreal.

Well, I communicated with the 3 other members via Fb email… so far, no one has said anything! I see that you were also going to invite ppl to the group, but couldn’t or didn’t… will wait to see what sort of response I get.
I think the batons are just nerves and anxiety acting out.
Was something else to watch though…
I love your site. Keep it up !
Thanks… 🙂
