Small Pouches

An “Arts and Craft” vendor’s wares hang from an almond tree on the beach at Mt Irvine Bay, Tobago.

She makes baskets, tablemats, pouches, and various pieces of jewelry by hand, and sells them on the beach to visiting tourists.

Good stuff.

Decorative Rock

I was initially attracted to the clear “stone” you see in the lower right of the pic.

Its actually a piece of louvre pane glass, worn down over time, I guess.

Pelican

Okay, okay… so its not really a pelican… but its the first thing I thought of when I was reviewing the pix.

It actually resembled a black/dark-grey egret of some sort.

The brain coral really stood out from the rest of the stones and coral.  Mt Irvine, Tobago.

Relaxed Brain

Would you believe that I was actually walking the beach looking for this exact shot?

Its true; one of the things I wanted to get before I left Tobago was a shot of some cool looking rocks and coral, with a distinctive piece in the middle of it all.  I’d then use the pic as a desktop for my PC… to help relax me during the stressful days at the office.

It took some time, but I enjoyed every minute of my hunt… all the more after I was rewarded so handsomely for my patience!

Look at how the brain coral just rests so sedately in the middle…

Water Wave

This was another shot I waited patiently to get.  Standing on a nearby rock, I noticed that while the water was calm, at times the waves would build up to a fairly decent size and crash among the rocks.

I decided to time the crashes and see if I could get a good shot of the waves crashing high over this rock.  I didn’t have a watch on, so I tried my best.

Well, if I had a better camera (or perhaps learnt a bit more about manipulating this one better than I do now), I probably would’ve gotten that shot.

This is the best looking of my attempts.
